Ngai has gained his LTCL violin qualification held by the Trinity College in 2010. Highlights of Ngai’s performance were in the 54th Hong Kong Music Festival, where he assisted his school in capturing 4 champions and 3 runner ups. Ngai’s brilliance is not limited to violin and viola; he also helped his school, Diocesan Boys’ School, to win Cathay Pacific-Best Choir of The Year award in the same competition. Ngai’s performance turned international when he assisted the school to win the first runner-up of Olympic Choir Festival 2004 in Korea.
He is currently a violinist in the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and Hong Kong Medical Association Orchestra. With a wide range of on-stage experiences in charity concerts, Ngai has appeared with several professional musicians namely Howard McCrary, Brian Montgomery and Robert Vicencio in the concerts Musical Moment 2008 and 2009, which were then broadcasted by TVB Pearl. As a guest concert-master of Hong Kong Symphony Society Youth Orchestra (HKSSYO), he had leaded the orchestra to play the famous Mendelssohn concerto in E minor in the annual concert.
