A concert pianist with international experiences and a dedicated teacher, Chang moved to Hong Kong from London in 2009 under Hong Kong Government’s Quality Migrant Scheme.

Evelyn completed her undergraduate and postgraduate solo performance degrees at the Royal College of Music with the late professor Irina Zaritskaya (Formal student of Jacob Flier) and Professor Andrew Ball (Formal Head of Keyboard of RCM). Whilst a student there she was awarded with many prizes. Starting as early as 13 when she first joined the Purcell School of Music in London, she travelled around Europe and the UK participating in numeral concerts and music festivals. Her teachers then included Val?ria Szerv?nszky, Graham Fitch and Andrej Esterh?zy (Formal student of Heinrich Neuhaus). One of the most memorable performances included at the Buckingham Palace at the age of 17.

Chang made her London debut in 2004 in the Park Lane Group Series held at the South Bank Centre, the success and exciting reviews brought her a string of interesting and challenging projects working with outstanding international artists and composers, including Douglas Boyd, David Cohen, Stephen Bell, Paul Dunmall, Brian Irvine Ensemble, Roman Mints, Maxim Rysanov, Alexander Sitkovestky, Jian Wang, Robert Ziegler, the ASCH sting trio and many others. Her 2007 recording with violist Maxim Rysanov released by Avie Records received many awards and was picked as editor’s choice by Gramophone, BBC Music and Musik magazines.

Aside from being a solo and chamber musician, Evelyn is also a great champion of contemporary music, actively involved in promoting new music and working closely with composers, namely Ed Bennet, Diana Burrell, John Casken, Elena Firsova, Brian Irvine, Elena Langer, Simon Mawhinny, Fumiko Myachi, Dobrinka Tabakova and others. Some of the works were especially dedicated to her.

Chang’s other recording works include several improvisation recordings on FMR Records, a recital album with clarinetist Cristo Barrios on RAL Records premier works by Canarian composers, ‘Mahakali’ a limited edition improvisation album with saxophonist Paul Dunmall on Duns Records.
