Hong Kong Born Chinese Soprano Colette Lam made her role d?but as Marie in La fille du r?giment and Gilda in Rigoletto singing with Daniel Sutin and Jerffery Hartman with Musica Viva Hong Kong in 2010 and 2013 respectively. Her role appearances with Musica Viva also include Gianetta in L’elisir d’Amore, Frasquita in Carmen (shorten version) and Violetta in La traviata (shorten version). European operatic appearances have included Papagena (cover Pamina) in The Magic Flute in Zeist, Netherlands and Amina in La sonnambula (Brent Opera) in London and Rosina in Il barbiere di siviglia (Opera Lyrica) in Oxford. Her first appearance as K?nigin der Nacht in Die Zauberfl?te (shorten version) was with Opera Hong Kong and again in the opera scene with Wales International Academy of Voice. In summer 2014, She will make her role d?but as Mimi in La Boh?me and Violetta in La traviata in Barga.

Other operatic roles include Romilda in Serse with conductor Fran?ois Xavier Roth, Belinda in Dido and Aeneas and Berginella in La P?richole during the studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She also appeared as Norina in Don pasquale and Pauline in La vie parisienne in Hong Kong City Hall.

She has participated in master class with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Josephone Barstow, Dame Ann Murray, Nelly Miricioiu, Conductor Richard Bonygne, Barbara Bonney, Della Jones, Ryland Davies, Joseph Rouleau, Rebecca Evans, Edith Bers, Francesca Patan?, Peter Edelmann, Gerhard Kahry, Malcolm Martineau, and Michael Pollock.

Major concert credits include, Mahler's Symphony No.2 in Colston Hall, Bristol, Shostakovich's 7 Romances on Verses by Alexander Blok in RAM, Schnittke’s Requiem and Bach Cantata No.139 in Macau, and Schumann’s Dichterliebe in Taipei, Bach Christmas Oratorio with Bach Choir, soloist in New Year Concert Tour with Kent Sinfonia, U.K. She was also invited to perform in the Spotlight on Young Musician Series 1 – Music Beyond Tradition, 2011. She has been actively appearing as a soloist for Hong Kong Bach Choir, Macau Voices and Hong Kong Museum of Arts.

Recent engagements include vocal recital VINO VOCE with Nicolette Wong in the first Macau Vocal Festival at Rui Cuhna Foundation Gallery, Orff’s Carmina Burana with Hong Kong Bach Choir in June 2014 and Mahler Symphony No.2 with Learners Chorus in May 2014, and as a guest soloist in Carol Lin’s Vocal recital in June 2014. Apart from being an active performer, Lam gave opera talks with Baritone Gerald Hon in numerous local schools as one of the outreach project with Hong Kong Arts Festival Society. Lam performed with artists from Hong Kong Arts with Disabled Association and gave voice coaching to staffs from Dialogue in the Dark, Hong Kong.

She gives individual singing lesson to the special needs since 2012. She has been the Vocal Coach at Hong Kong Treble Choir since 2009 and is currently coaching the school choirs in Community Concert project for Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Colette Lam obtained her BMus (Hons) at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with Michael Rippon Memorial Scholarship and the Jackie Chan Charitable Scholarship. Upon completion of the Master of Music in Voice (Prep-opera Course) and Dissertation at the Royal Academy of Music, London on a full scholarship by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, she studied with world renowned Tenor Dennis O’Neill and obtained another Master Degree in Advanced Vocal Studies (Opera) with Distinction at Wales International Academy of Voice, Cardiff on the Li Po Chun Professional training and Postgraduate Scholarship. She is recently a student of English-Romanian Soprano Nelly Miricioiu-Kirk and Coach Rupert Dussman and Michael Pollock.
