鋼琴導師

朱偉恆現任香港小交響樂團鍵琴首席,是本地新崛起和最活躍的年輕鋼琴家之一,經常於本港及海外以獨奏、伴奏、室 樂及樂團樂師身份廣泛演出。朱氏生於香港,早年在蔡崇力老師的指導下屢獲殊榮,包括施坦威國際青少年鋼琴比賽、 香港(亞洲)鋼琴公開比賽及香港校際音樂節等的主要獎項。海外留學期間,他再勇奪多項大獎,包括北倫敦鋼琴比賽 第一名及賈奎斯.塞繆爾音樂學院校際鋼琴比賽第二名,更被譽為具有「驚人的演奏技巧和傑出的音樂造詣」及「非常 細膩…極具魅力和威力」的鋼琴家。

朱氏畢業於兩所英國皇家音樂學院RAM及RCM,分別獲頒鋼琴演奏碩士及一級榮譽學士學位,並獲頒歐盟伊拉斯莫斯獎 學金前往德國科隆音樂大學習藝於華斯理.洛巴諾夫(傳奇海恩利許.紐豪斯的弟子)門下。此外,他曾跟隨多位海外 名師習琴,主要師承凱文.肯納(第十二屆蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽最高獎得主)、伊恩.方丹(第六屆魯賓斯坦國際鋼琴大 師賽首獎得主)及約翰.布萊克利教授。在學其間,他屢次獲頒多項演奏及學術榮譽,當中包括RAM最優異研究生畢業 演奏會大獎的「最高讚揚」殊榮及葛麗泰•帕金森學術獎等。

朱氏曾多次應邀到香港電台第四台接受訪問及錄音,並經常與本地及海外著名音樂家聯手演出,於香港國際室內樂音樂 節、新視野藝術節、東亞新聲音樂節、小交午間音樂會及ArtisTree駐場系列、花旗銀行音樂會系列等亮相。他最近以獨 奏家及駐團藝術家身份與香港Pro Arte樂團、香港都會管樂團、香港理工大學學生會管弦樂團、香港德明管弦樂團及樂樂 國樂團作協奏表演。此外,他以客席首席身份參與匈牙利交響樂團、劍橋英皇學院合唱團和香港名家樂友等的演出,並 多次與香港創樂團作世界首演及灌錄唱片。

舞台以外,他曾為香港-亞洲鋼琴公開比賽擔任決賽評委,為音樂雜誌《琴韻》撰寫文章,並於香港教育學院、香港公 開大學、美國上愛荷華大學(香港分校)及香港能仁專上學院兼任講師及課程發展。

Currently Principal Keyboard of Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Alan Chu has emerged as one of the most versatile and sought-after pianists in Hong Kong, performing extensively as soloist, collaborative artist and orchestral musician both locally and abroad. A native of Hong Kong, he achieved early successes under the tutelage of Choi Sown-le, winning major prizes in the Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition, the Hong Kong (Asia) Piano Competition and the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. During his years abroad, he was further named the first prize winner at the North London Piano Competition and the runner-up at the Jaques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition, being hailed as a pianist who possesses “formidable technique and real musicality” and “a very sensitive pianist… great pianistic flair and power”.

Alan Chu obtained his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music, greatly indebted to his major mentors, Kevin Kenner (Top Prize Winner of the 12th International Chopin Piano Competition), Ian Fountain (Top Prize Winner of the 6th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition) and John Blakely. He also studied with Vassily Lobanov (pupil of the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus) at the Hochschule f?r Musik K?ln in Germany under an Erasmus scholarship. He was the recipient of several coveted honours and awards, most notably the ‘Very Highly Commended’ honour for the prestigious RAM Lloyd Hartley Prize (for the best postgraduate final recital) and Greta Parkinson Prize for his academic achievement.

Alan Chu is a frequent guest on RTHK Radio 4 for recordings and interviews, and has given frequent recitals and performances with local and international artists, making appearances in Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival, New Vision Arts Festival, East Asian New Music Festival, HKS lunchtime concert and ArtisTree Residency series, Citibank Plaza concert series, among others. As soloist and artist-in-residence, he has recently performed with orchestras such as Hong Kong Wind Symphony, Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Students’ Union Orchestra, Hong Kong Tak Ming Philharmonic Orchestra, and Yao Yueh Chinese Orchestra. As a guest principal, he has also freelanced with Hungarian Symphony Orchestra, King’s College Choir Cambridge and Hong Kong Virtuosi, as well as participating in many world premieres and multimedia performances and recordings with Hong Kong New Music Ensemble.

Off the stage, he has served as jury member at the Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition, contributor of ‘The Pianist’ Magazine, and part-time lecturer and course developer at the Hong Kong Institute of Education, the Open University of Hong Kong, Upper Iowa University (Hong Kong) and Hong Kong Nang Yan College of Higher Education.
