Hassan is a professional drummer and percussionist and has travelled all over the world in the past 30 years performing in countries in Europe, USA the Middle East and Asia. Hassan was born in Sri Lanka where he found his love for music a specifically drums at a very young age.

In the 1970's Hassan joined 'The Jetliners', a contemporary Jazz & Pop outfit as a professional musician. During this period The Jetliners performed in a series of hotel functions, concerts, commercial advertisements, and undertook several oriental recordings. Their popularity in Sri Lanka took them to India where they took residency at the Taj Mahal Intercontinental for 2 years. Following their successful tenure in India, The Jetliners were whisked away to the "Huka Hut" in Waikiki, Hawaii where they resided as for a further 1 1/2 years. From there the Jetliners resided at "Talk of the Town" at the Excelsior hotel, Hong Kong for 2 years before returning back home and to the Intercontinental Hotel, Colombo Sri Lanka for 1 year.

The 80's saw Hassan leave the Jetliners and team up with 'Serendib', a 7-piece R&B contemporary Jazz band that toured Switzerland and Germany for 2 1/2 years. Thereafter, Hassan joined another group `Lotus', 6-piece contemporary pop band who toured the Middle East of the Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan for 3 years before returning home once again.

During the 90's Hassan worked as a freelance musician in Sri-Lanka for the local radio & T.V. stations. In addition to this he held a series of jazz workshops at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo for 2 years. Following his stint back in Sri Lanka, Hassan returned to Hong Kong, where he was snapped up by the Regent hotel and their resident group the 'Acoustic Jazz Trio' for a further 2 years. Subsequent to this Hassan worked as a freelance musician in Hong Kong at Hotel functions and studio recordings. This opportunity enabled Hassan to perform with various local and international Jazz, Latin, and Ethnic Musical outfits in Shenzhen, Guangzhou (China), Singapore & Macau.

Recent years has shown no proof of slowing down for Hassan. He has since 2000 performed in various Private, Pubic and themed events which has taken him all over Asia. He performed a number of themed events in Singapore such as 'Ear Shot' for the Annual Art Festival held at the National University (the former Parliamentary building). He has performed at the inaugural of F3 Motor Racing in Zhuhai (China) as well as for banquet functions for the American Chamber of Commerce inaugural events at the Wynn Hotel in Macau. He was recently invited back to Sri Lanka for a reunion concert with R&B and Jazz concepts where they performed to a sell out crowd. He currently teaches drums and percussions (electronic & Acoustic) privately and percussion classes of the Tabla at the Baptist University. He is currently residing on weekends with a contemporary Jazz and R&B quartet at the Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong and has completed sessions for the Trade Development Council and Kowloon Cricket Club, and continues to be sought after to perform at a variety of private and public venues on themed events.
