As
an experienced musician, Dennie graduated from
Yamaha Music Institute in Japan in 1990. She completed
Shobi Conservertoire in Tokyo in 1992. In 1994,
Dennie was the back-up vocal for Leslie Cheung’s
concert. Then, she entered the local music industry
for production.
She possesses extensive work experience with
famous local singers. She was the Music Director
for Joey Yung’s concert; the musician (keyboard
and piano) for concerts of Jacky Cheung, Andy
Lau, Twins, Miriam Yeung, Kelly Chan and William
So, to name just a few; a chorus singer in Leslie
Cheung’s concert and she released a record with
Joey Tang in 2004.
Dennie has written songs for a host of Canto-pop
singers such as Andy Hui, Joey Yung, Leo Ku, Jade
Kwan, Kelly Chen, Anita Mui, Denise Ho, Miriam
Yeung, Edmond Leung, Sammi Cheng, Gigi Leung,
Twins, Cass Pang, William So and Kit Chan, and
also herself with Joey Tang.
She also arranged music for Joey Yung, Remus
Choy Yat-kit and Hacken Lee.
Besides, two songs of the quartet, “The Girl
Dormitory” were produced by Dennie.
Her outstanding piece sung by Leo Ku won her
numerous awards including “Top Ten Solid Gold
Awards” and “Composer of The Year”, “TVB Top Ten
Solid Gold”, “Radio Hong Kong Top Ten Solid Gold”,
“FM Select Top Ten Local Solid Gold” and “The
Highest Performance (Canton-pop) Award in Radio
and Television” in 1997, and “The Best Movie Theme
Song” in the 17th Hong Kong Movie Award in 1998.
In addition, the song for Denise Ho awarded her
with “RTHK Top Ten Solid Gold Award 2002.
