Actively involving in the pop, jazz, entertainment and modeling scene, Becky has been working closely with international brands like Coca cola, Sony and MacDonnell being featured in their commercial songs and also for some HK Movies as their theme song singer like “Stealing Kisses” and “It had to be you”. To mark her career, the 2003 Recital with the Philharmonic Orchestra provides the distinct character towards her passion of classical, musical and pop music.

Studied piano from the age of 6, young soprano Becky has received her professional music studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University starting from 1997. During the life of university, she was deeply involved with the music department where she enjoyed being as the Commencement performer in 98 and 99; the Chapel Services special music presenter; the selected soloist for the HKBU Official Annual Dinner in 99; and the chosen Student Ambassador presenting the university in 98.

Before she started her professional music training in HKBU, she devoted herself into various music activities including competitions, international music camps, materclasses, concerts, musical and opera performances.

In the preceding years of her high school graduation, she obtained numerous awards from the Hong Kong School Music Festival from 90-98, which included the Open Operatic Solo champion; the Open Art Song Solo Champion (both Chinese and English) and the Open Oratorio Solo Champion. She was also the recipient of the Miss Brother Cassian Scholarship in 96 and the Miss Barbara Fei Vocal Scholarship in both 96 and 98, which had consolidated the basis of her career.

Her passion towards musical theatre began to flourish when she first received the Best Musical Actress award in 96 in her high school annual singing contest. Her participation then included being as the leading actress in the musical performances “Fiddler on the Roof” in 94, “Beauty and the Beast” in 95 in the St Paul’s Co-educational College Annual Concerts; and the “Narrator” in the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Techni-color Dreamcoat” with the Hong Kong Youth Choir in 98. She also joined the Learner’s Choir in 96-97 for the “Sunset Boulevard” musical performance and the Opera Society from 97-98 for the “Aida” and “La Boheme” opera performances.

Besides the classical and musical aspect, she also won several pop music competitions included the HKBU 98 inter-faculty Singing Contest, the inter-university ICMA 98 Singing Contest and the Girls Singing Contest in 98 organized by Metro Radio 997 and TVB.

These accomplishments were not only the result of self determination, but also it was the guidance, which Ms Chan Siu Kwan and Ms Stephanie Chan provided her and no doubt those are the key elements who have created an auspicious start for her future career.
